2023 US Sailing Area B Sears Cup Championship Qualifier

On July 5th and 6th, The WaterFront Center hosted The US Sailing Area B Sears Cup Championship Qualifier.

On July 5th and 6th, yacht clubs and sailing associations from the Northeast gathered at The WaterFront Center in Oyster Bay, NY, to compete for an invitation to the Sears Cup Championship in Seabrook, Texas, in mid-August.

The Regatta started on July 5th with lots of excitement but little to no wind. In hopes of finding a breeze, sailors gathered all over The WaterFront Center. Sadly, the sailors ended their day with a race abandonment but with plenty of hope that the following day would provide the wind they needed.

A sense of excitement pervaded the second day of the Regatta. Finally, the sailors found the wind and got their wishes fulfilled. Racers completed six races on Day 2. American Yacht Club won five of the six races and locked in their invitation to the Sears Cup Championship.
