Youth Marine Explorers

Our outdoor classrooms, ecology wet lab, and the historic oyster sloop CHRISTEEN are the perfect setting to enjoy and explore Oyster Bay's unique biomes. Dive deep into the Oyster Bay National Wildlife Refuge's ecology with activities and experiments catered to the various biomes of Beekman Beach, Mill Creek Inlet, and West Harbor.

Spring Break Marine Explorers 2024

April 22nd - 26th

While school is out, Spring Break Science Week is in! Sign up your child for a week of science activities during April recess, keeping minds engaged through fun, STEM-based constructive learning. Each day has a different science theme and activity; sign up for the morning, afternoon, or full-day session!

Grades: 1st - 5th (Children will be broken down into groups based on age)

Half-day sessions for the week: $225

Full-day sessions for the week: $450

  • Morning Sessions: 9 am - 12 pm

  • Afternoon Session: 1 pm - 4 pm

  • Full-Day Session: 9 am - 4 pm

    * BYO Lunch: The lunch period will take place from 12 pm - 1 pm

Bring your Troop down to The WaterFront Center for an experience of a lifetime at the Oyster Bay National Wildlife Refuge! Choose programs that suit your Troops' interests and needs from our catalog of scout-specific activities and curriculum.

Family Expeditions

Discover local marine life with hands-on activities, including a marine organism touch tank, a scavenger hunt on the beach, and exploring the shoreline with a seine net. This guided 90-minute program is great for the whole family. Everyone will learn the important role each habitat plays as part of the larger marine ecosystem while making memories with friends and family!
