Jr. Keelboat Sailing (Ages 8-11, 12-14 & 15-17)

Description:
Hop aboard our 23-foot WFC Sonar keelboats for an introduction to sailing! Sailors work in small teams to learn core sailing skills, including steering, sail handling, knot tying, and teamwork. This class builds confidence on the water while emphasizing safety, communication, and fun. Ideal for both first-time sailors and those looking to strengthen their basic sailing skills.
Skill Level / Ages:
Open to beginners and experienced sailors with a basic sailing background. With groups split by age (8–11, 12–14 & 15-17), this class is perfect for beginners or kids with some sailing experience who want to have a blast on the water!

Opti Sailing (Ages 8 - 15)
AM CLASS ONLY: 9 AM - 12PM
Dates: Sundays, June 7, 14, & 21
Description: Set sail for an awesome adventure! Kids will learn to sail on our Opti boats, mastering skills such as rigging, steering upwind and downwind, staying safe on the water, and performing capsize drills. They’ll also discover sailing lingo and sportsmanship while making new friends and having a blast! Perfect for beginners, this class lets kids learn at their own pace and repeat as needed to become confident sailors.
Skill Level: For kids ages 8–15 with no sailing experience or still learning the basics. No prior knowledge needed!

Adventure Sailing (Ages 8 - 17)
PM CLASS ONLY: 1 PM - 4PM
Dates: Sundays, June 7, 14, & 21
Description: Set sail for an epic adventure on Oyster Bay Harbor! Kids will hop aboard our Hobie Catamarans to learn sailing basics like steering, working the sails, and staying safe on the water. They’ll take turns as skipper and crew, teaming up to explore the harbor while learning cool sailing skills and good sportsmanship. With groups split by age 8–17, this class is perfect for beginners or kids with some sailing experience who want to have a blast on the water!
Skill Level: This class is ideal for beginners or experienced sailors with a basic understanding of sailing.
Price: $300
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Lunch Break: 12:00 – 1:00 PM (Bring Your Own Lunch)

Description:
Join our competitive sailing program designed to sharpen racing skills and build confidence on the course. Sailors will train in advanced boat handling and racing tactics while competing against peers.
Skill Level:
For experienced sailors who have mastered sailing fundamentals and are ready for competitive racing. Participation requires recommendation and approval from the Sailing Director.
Price: $700
Opti Race Team (Ages 9 -15)
High School Sailing Team (Grades 9–12)
Time: 3:30 PM–6:30 PM
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Schedule: March 10 (Rigging Week) - May 22 (10 weeks of sailing)
Volunteer week May 25 - 29
Description: Ready to hit the water and race? Join our High School Sailing Team to learn, practice, and compete in thrilling regattas! Beginners will master sailing basics like rigging, steering, and water safety with dedicated coaches, while experienced sailors will sharpen advanced skills like race tactics and boat handling. Sailors can represent their high school or join WFC’s composite team to race across Long Island. Whether you’re new to sailing or a seasoned racer, this program is all about teamwork, skill-building, and fun on the water!
Who Can Join: Teens in grades 9–12, from complete beginners to expert racers. All skill levels welcome! (7 & 8 graders will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
Price: $875 (Team pricing for groups of 4+ sailors from the same school—contact us for details!)
Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, May 6 - June 17
Days & Times:
Monday: 3:30 PM–7:00 PM (Training)
Wednesday: 3:30 PM–approx. 7:30 PM (Race Night)
Description: Join our Jr. Big Boat Race Team and sail the J/105, a 35-foot sailboat. Teens will team up to master key roles like helmsman, bowman, and sail trimmer, building skills and confidence to dominate in regattas. This program takes your sailing to the next level, preparing you for bigger boats and competitive racing across Long Island. With expert coaches, you’ll learn teamwork, strategy, and seamanship in an exciting, hands-on environment!
Who Can Join: For those with solid sailing fundamentals. Prior sailing experience required. All registrations are reviewed by the Sailing Director/Head Coach for skill-level approval. If a sailor cannot be placed in this program, a refund will be issued or they’ll be reassigned to a suitable class.
Price: $1,200 per sailor
