CHRISTEEN / IDA MAY Captain

Captain our historic vessels for educational tours.

Overview

Captains operate our historic vessels for public sails, educational programs, and special events with a focus on safety and guest experience.

Compensation: Starting at $50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe vessel operations, pre-departure checks, and emergency readiness.
• Coordinate with crew and dock staff on boarding, weather, and schedules.
• Support a welcoming and educational onboard experience for passengers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Appropriate USCG credentials for passenger operations (based on vessel/program needs).
• Strong leadership, calm decision-making, and communication skills.
• Experience in local waters preferred.

Launch Driver

Transport guests safely to and from vessels.

Launch Drivers are essential to daily operations—moving guests efficiently and safely between dock and vessels.

Responsibilities

• Operate the launch safely in varied conditions.
• Assist with boarding/disembarking and maintain clear passenger communication.

• Comfort operating small motorboats and working around docks.

This role supports WFC’s marketing by capturing and producing content that tells our story and promotes programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Create photo/video content for Instagram, Facebook, and email campaigns.
• Help plan and schedule posts using a content calendar.
• Support event promotion and capture day-of content.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfort using Canva and/or basic video editing tools.
• Strong writing voice and attention to detail.
• Reliable, creative, and excited about community storytelling.
