Oyster Bay Cup Regatta Recap

This past Saturday, October 3rd, The WaterFront Center hosted its 2026 Oyster Bay Cup Regatta, followed by an awards celebration at Oyster Bay Brewing Co.

It was a great afternoon for sailing with beautiful weather (finally!) and full wind. Seven Sonars lined up to race in our fun one-design regatta, where the wind allowed us to complete 4 entire races! The competitive spirit was strong, with each race ending closer than the last. The party continued at Oyster Bay Brewing Co. to thank our guests, enjoy a great meal, fun music, and hand out awards.

Thank you to our Admiral Sponsor, Nkrumah Neurosurgery & Spine, for your generosity in making this event possible, and thank you to all who attended for helping make this regatta so successful. Because of community members like you, we can continue fulfilling our mission to provide access to the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor and Long Island Sound through our educational, recreational, and instructional programs.

The WaterFront Center

The WaterFront Center (WFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Oyster Bay, New York. It provides access to the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor and Long Island Sound through hands-on marine education, recreational and instructional sailing programs, and a variety of on-the-water experiences. WFC offers paddleboard, kayak, and sailboat rentals, as well as harbor tours aboard the National Historic Landmark oyster sloop Christeen and the oyster dredge Ida May—both integral to connecting people to the maritime heritage of the region.
