2025 Friends and Alumni Regatta

A Day to Remember

What an incredible day it’s been at The WaterFront Center! We’re still buzzing from the success of the 2025 Friends and Alumni Regatta. Despite the challenges posed by the weather, this event brought together sailors, families, and supporters for a day filled with competition, community, and meaningful fundraising.

Highlights from the Day

The regatta featured exciting racing followed with the Post-Race BBQ turned into a joyful gathering with delicious food, drinks, and the presentation of well-deserved awards. The energy was palpable as we celebrated our community’s spirit. The day culminated in a memorable 25th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting, a proud moment marking a quarter-century of The WaterFront Center.

Making a Difference

This year’s regatta doubled as a fundraiser, and the support was overwhelming. The funds raised will go toward critical needs across our programs:

  • Adult Sailing: Upgrading the sonar fleet with new rigging, blocks, shackles, and ongoing maintenance to ensure safe and reliable vessels.

  • Powerboat Fleet: Covering major engine repairs and maintenance for coach boats, while exploring options for new boats to enhance training safety and efficiency.

  • Junior Sailing: Supporting the Junior Big Boat Program with race entry fees, winter maintenance, and a formal Safety at Sea course, while enhancing the c420 fleet with improved pedestals and protective materials.
Special prizes for top fundraisers added an exciting twist, encouraging participants to rally their networks for an even greater impact.

A Heartfelt Thank You

“We’re truly moved by the turnout and generosity today,” shared Henriette Rohl, Vice President at The WaterFront Center. “This regatta not only honored our 25-year legacy but also reinforced our mission to keep sailing accessible for everyone. A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who joined us—whether racing, donating, or cheering from the shore!”

Stay tuned for more updates, and consider joining us next year.
