A Look Back at What Makes The WaterFront Center So Special
As we prepare for another season on the water, we’re taking a moment to look back at a video that beautifully captures the spirit of The WaterFront Center.
Last year, this piece was created from our friends at Oyster Bay Today to share a glimpse of who we are and what we do. Watching it again now, it feels just as meaningful. It reflects not only the experiences we offer, but the connections that are made here every day.
From hands-on marine education programs to time spent out on Oyster Bay Harbor, our mission has always been clear:
to connect people to the water through education and recreation.
More Than a Place, A Community
For over two decades, The WaterFront Center has been a nonprofit community organization dedicated to creating meaningful, accessible experiences on the water.
Whether it is a student discovering marine life for the first time, a family enjoying a harbor cruise, or a group gathering for a special celebration, each moment is part of something bigger.
Out on the water, learning becomes tangible.
Connections are formed.
And a deeper appreciation for our local environment begins to take shape.
A Living Connection to the Harbor
Our work is brought to life aboard our historic vessels, including the CHRISTEEN and the IDA MAY.
These vessels are more than just boats. They are floating classrooms, gathering spaces, and a direct link to Oyster Bay’s maritime heritage. Each trip offers a unique opportunity to experience the harbor in a way that is both educational and unforgettable.
Looking Ahead to the Season
As we head into the 2026 season, we are excited to welcome our community back to the water.
Private charters are now booking, offering a one-of-a-kind setting for celebrations, corporate outings, and group experiences. Interested in learning more about private charters? click here.
Our programs will be launching soon, continuing our commitment to hands-on learning and meaningful connection for all ages.
Be Part of the Experience
Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another season, we invite you to be part of what makes this place so special.
