MacKenzie grew up in Ocean City, NJ a barrier island south of Atlantic City, her parents had her on sail and power boats before she could walk. While attending college at Florida Atlantic University, MacKenzie was the Head Green Fleet Race Coach at Lauderdale Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL and most recently, MacKenzie was the Sailing Program Manager at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, TX, outside of Houston.

As the new Sailing Director at The Waterfront Center, she is focused on strengthening and expanding participation across all of the fleets both educationally and recreationally, and she looks forward to motivating and inspiring the sailors while promoting an exciting, safe and positive learning environment. MacKenzie recognizes the importance of instilling confidence in each sailor, along with providing them with the proper skill sets that will last them a lifetime full of sailing or wherever the sport may take them on the water.
