Our programs focus on marine ecology both at our location and at outside locations such as schools and libraries. Interested candidates must be able to contribute a minimum of 2-3 hours per week/weekend, have their own transportation and be a reliable and responsible individual.
Requirements: We are looking for people who have experience working in environmental education OR have a BS/BA in environmental science, education, recreation, or another related field. Applicants should enjoy and have experience working with children. Our ideal candidates are team players, have a sense of humor, the ability to think creatively, and possess a strong work ethic.

We are seeking energetic, knowledgeable individuals to share their passion of the marine environment with participants of our Junior Summer Programs.
The WaterFront Center offers a unique experience for children in grades 1 through 12 who may have not otherwise have a chance to learn how about or be exposed to the marine environment. Our summer programs consist of introducing kids to some of the basic building blocks that make up the marine ecosystem we have in Oyster Bay. Students learn about everything from horseshoes crabs to studying plankton. Our goal is to create experiences that create a lifetime of appreciation.
Positions are available for 9 or 10 weeks during which you could be involved with anything from a beach walk to a kayak tour down along our shoreline. Previous teaching or counselor experience is preferred, however not necessary for all positions. We are looking for naturalists who are passionate, energetic, engaging and sharing with our participants.
Requirements: Applicants should enjoy and have experience working with children. Our ideal candidates should be self-motivated, quick thinking, adaptable, curious and have a sense of humor. Background or coursework in biology, marine biology, geology, oceanography, ecology or education is a plus!

Summer Program Instructors: We are seeking talented, enthusiastic and experienced coaches with a minimum of US Sailing Level 1 and First Aid./CPR.
The WaterFront Center offers a unique experience for children in grades 3 through 12 who may have not otherwise have a chance to learn how to sail or get on the water. Our 2 week summer programs consist of learn to sail to more experienced sailors and have proven to be a great way to introduce kids to the world of sailing. WaterFront Center’s goal is to create bridges for a life filled with sailing, from beginner Opti's, High School Sailing, through Intercollegiate sailing, and beyond.
Positions are available for 9 or 10 weeks during which you will instruct students sailing: Opti's, Pixels, 420's, Sunfish and Sonars. Previous coaching experience and collegiate sailors are preferred, however not necessary for all positions. We are looking for instructors who appreciate the sport and can provide a fun and engaging environment for all of our sailors.
Ideal candidate: strong work ethic, works well with others, takes direction well, eager to learn new skills.
Brief job description: Dockhands assist with boat maintenance, boat yard tasks, monitor the docks, launch kayak/SUP renters, and assist Launch Drivers and Dockmaster.

Brief job description: Launch Drivers drive WFC launch, assist with boat maintenance, boat yard tasks, monitor the docks, launch kayak/SUP renters, and assist Dockhands and Dockmaster.
The candidate must be able to multitask and handle a constant influx of customers. Responsibilities include answering multiple phone lines, taking registrations, some light accounting, handling walk in and reservation (rentals). A minimum of one year working in an office experience required. Candidate must be self-motivated and flexible, with some business, accounting experience a plus. A positive attitude and outgoing personality are a must. Candidates must be willing to learn to grow within a small business environment.
Position is currently 25 hrs. per week, may increase depending on skill and interest. Hours will include evening, weekends and Holidays.
