Racing  Tuesday Night Racing
Take your sailing experience to the next level and put your skills to the test on the racecourse! The perfect program for those new to racing as well as intermediate racers, with emphasis on basic performance sailing and understanding racing formats and technique. Sailboat racing is an excellent way to improve all of your sailing skills. Whether you are a recent Basic Keelboat graduate or are looking for a social way to enjoy time on the water, Tuesday Night Racing is the perfect choice. Learn from fellow sailors while instructors provide coaching in a friendly atmosphere with emphasis on learning. Join us in a friendly, fostering environment with on-the-water coaching and a BBQ afterwards.
Schedule:
6:00pm - sunset Tuesday evenings, May through September, Saturday afternoons in the Fall
Fee:
$45 per night or $500 seasonal* (approx. 25 weeks)

Basic Keelboat or equivalent experience

Thursday Night Racing
Time to turn up the competition! Our new Thursday Night Racing program is designed and geared towards those who have previous racing experience. Come down for more competitive racing with series scoring and end of season awards in our one design fleet of Sonars with spinnakers. Bring your own crew or we’ll help you form one. Come down and enjoy tight competition and relax afterwards with a BBQ dinner.

6:00pm - sunset Thursday evenings, May through September, Sunday afternoons in the Fall
Fee:
$55 per night or $600 seasonal* (approx. 25 weeks)
Prerequisite:
Racing experience and Spinnaker Training or equivilant

Spinnaker Racing
This class focuses on refining your spinnaker technique for racing. Learn advanced spinnaker handling, mark-roundings and efficient sets and take downs to improve your downwind racing. Sailing under spinnaker is an exciting component of racing. Efficient sets, gybes and takedowns can make all the difference on a racecourse. Spinnaker Racing will help you hone your spinnaker technique and downwind strategy.

* A 50% deposit per person per course is required to secure your spot in any course. Classes are held rain or shine. The WaterFront Center reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a class due to severe weather conditions. Full payment is required on the course start date. Private lessons may not be applied to any certification course as course time, all certification courses are offered as is - unless special arrangements are made before the lesson begins. Deposits are refundable, less $50 materials/administrative fee, up to one week prior to the start of the course. If a student cancels within one(1) week of the course start date, the student may reschedule within the same season only. No refunds will be given within one week of the course start date. Once a course has begun no refunds are given for any reason. All rates and dates are subject to change.
* Late Adult Registrations: If you register for a program that begins in 7 days or less we cannot secure your spot in the program and therefore we do not take online payment for that item. However, we may still request the registration, and if we can accommodate you we will take payment by check or credit card in person before the program starts. |
