sailing racing Take your sailing experience to the next level and put your skills to the test on the racecourse! The perfect option for all abilities, WFC racing places an emphasis on basic performance sailing, racing format and technique. Join us in a friendly, fostering environment with on-the-water coaching and a BBQ afterwards.

Sailboat racing is an excellent way to improve all of your sailing skills. Whether you are a recent Basic Keelboat graduate or are looking for a social way to enjoy time on the water, WFC Racing is the perfect choice. Learn from fellow sailors while instructors provide coaching in a friendly atmosphere with emphasis on learning.

Schedule: Memorial Day – Labor Day: Tuesdays 6-8pm
May 6 – Memorial Day & Sept 8 – Columbus Day: Saturdays 1-4pm
Alumni Regatta: September 29
Fee: $45 per night or $500 seasonal (approximately 23 weeks)
Prerequisite: Basic Keelboat or equivalent experience

* A 50% deposit per person per course is required to secure your spot in any course. Classes are held rain or shine. The WaterFront Center (WFC) reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a class due to severe weather conditions. WFC reserves the right to cancel any instructional sailing program if total enrollment is less than two (2) people. Full payment is required on the course start date. Private lessons may not be applied to any certification course as course time, all certification courses are offered as is - unless special arrangements are made before the lesson begins. Deposits are refundable, less $50 materials/administrative fee, up to one week prior to the start of the course. If a student cancels within one(1) week of the course start date, the student may reschedule within the same season only. No refunds will be given within one week of the course start date. Once a course has begun no refunds are given for any reason. All rates and dates are subject to change. If any customer cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice, without a doctor’s note or they do not show for the class, no refund will be given and the program cannot be rescheduled.

* Late Adult Registrations: If you try and register for a program beginning in 7 days or less we cannot secure your spot or accept payment online. Please give us a call to find out if there are any openings and if we can accommodate you we will accept payment by check or credit card before the first day of the program.

Wednesday Night Racing

sailing racing Enjoy the fun and excitement of buoy racing on our J105, Andiamo in the Sagamore YC racing series! Races are held in Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor. Enjoy racing with an instructor and new friends or charter the boat with your own team for a night or the entire season!

Racing on Andiamo is fast and fun. A 35 foot sport boat rigged with asymmetrical spinnaker and tiller, she is comfortably crewed by three to six people. Come together with fellow WFC sailors under the guidance of an instructor and join in the excitement of local racing where you’ll meet (and beat?!) sailors from neighboring clubs and organizations.
